Luggage
You can comfortably take a hand luggage when travelling with Turkish Airlines. Depending where you're going and if you're travelling in business class, the size and weight of your allowed baggage will differ. Make sure to check the specifications when booking with Turkish Airlines and pack your registered luggage according to the restrictions.
Booking classes
You may choose to book your Turkish Airlines tickets within three categories – economic, comfort or business class. In the economic class each seat has a socket and a USB adapter for charging electronic devices. The space between seats is 78 cm and all chairs can lean back by 15 cm. The comfort class has increased space for legs while the seats are 49 cm wide and lean back by 22 cm. The space between chairs is 116 cm long. The business class seats are 188 cm long after unfolding. They have an inbuilt massage option, a reading light and a large headboard adding to your privacy.
Online check-in
Passengers are requested to do online check-in and select a seat between 24 hours to 90 minutes prior flight. Luggage drop-off at the airport closes 60 minutes before the departure on international flights and 45 minutes before the departure of domestic flights.
Fleet
The Turkish Airlines have 262 planes in total. There are 88 Boeings 737-800, 43 Airbuses A321-200 and 33 Airbuses A320-200.
Istanbul Airport
Istanbul Airport, which serves as the city’s main airport since April 2019, when it took over from Istanbul-Atatürk, is located around 35 km from the city centre, on the European part of Istanbul.
Currently, Istanbul Airport consists of only one terminal, although it’s designed to handle as many as 90 million passengers annually., making it one of the largest in the world. The airport expansion plans allow for construction of additional terminals, and the airport is supposed to be able to handle 200 million passengers annually by 2030.
Refreshments
Depending on distance and destination of your journey with Turkish Airlines, you can order hot and cold meals during your economic class flight. The menu is based on the best picks from the European and Turkish cuisine. During long-distance flights, you'll be also offered sandwiches and cookies. On all international flights you can expect some special meals.
The comfort class welcomes their passengers with a drink, while the menu is expanded with fresh ingredients. You can order a hot meal, a dessert, fruit or a cheese board. Passengers are offered food once again before the landing.
The business class menu depends on a route. During business class holidays on long-distance flights the passengers are offered two meals and snacks. A broad selection of starters and soups is just a beginning of this delicious journey with the Turkish Airlines, don't miss the strong Turkish coffee and traditional bites.
Additional services
Video on demand services are available on some flights. In such case you can enjoy films, audiobooks and children's entertainment. If you wish to send a message or an e-mail during flight, you may do so for the price of $1,60.

A horrific experience
I travelled to Turkey from London - on this airline . I was delayed by 10 hours and had to sleep on the floor in instanbul . The airline didn’t provide a hotel or any information . I have travelled the world never had such a bad experience

Never book tight connections!
Terrible congestion at check in at Heathrow delayed departure from London. BUT, Turkish Air was brilliant, taking everyone who missed connections to good hotels, staff super helpful at 2am. Also on return, a TA official escorted us (only 4 people) to our onward flight. Would definitely recommend TA and would use it again.
